Grouplove’s Like A Version Is Anything But “Bullshit”

Grouplove Like A Version - Type 2 - PP Image

Another Friday is upon us and once more triple j is kicking it off in style, with Like A Version seeing Grouplove take on a rendition of the Dune Rats’ newest banger, Bullshit. In there own words, “lets Grouplove it up,” and that they did with the quintet establishing their own quirky and vibrant style on the stoner rocker’s iconic song.

The second you hear Hannah Hooper’s soothing vocals you will feel a smile creeping across your face as you lose yourself within this Like A Version cover. The band does a fantastic job of bringing this whole song together with the tune similar to Grouplove’s past albums without taking the grungy feel away from the lyrics.

Grouplove manage to top this all off with the first ever Like A Version ‘shoey,’ which brought cheers from everyone in the studio and will from you to! It was a full VB tinnie, and Bassist Daniel Gleeson wasn’t even wearing socks which just makes it that much better!

The band also performed Welcome To Your Life from their upcoming album ‘Big Mess’ which if you enjoyed their sophomore album ‘Spreading Rumoursyou’ll love this. Their song Welcome To Your Life sounds like a groovier version of Schoolboy and News To Me, both of which are mainstays in anyone’s Grouplove playlist.

Unfortunately the band have just finished their tour in Australia, but fortunately Falls Festival is yet to release their full line up…
