Hands Like Houses Give Emotional Cover of 90’s Classic for Like A Version

Hands Like Houses L A V

While Hands Like Houses are known for their melodic brand of hardcore, their Like A Version was a delightfully relaxed affair. The band went for a hefty change of pace and tone, bringing out a surprisingly chilling cover of 90’s classic Don’t Speak by No Doubt.

Ditching the ska-pop sounds of the original track, Hands Like Houses kick off the track with a haunting guitar melody soaked in reverb. The signature emotive vocals from singer Trenton Woodley then soar in, doing justice to the original sound of Gwen Stefani.

What really makes the cover one to remember is the lead guitar that echoes throughout the track, the guitar chops of Matt Cooper really give the cover it’s own Hands Like Houses charm.

The highlight of the cover is without a doubt the luscious bridge filled with a dreamy guitar solo, before building up to the strained and emotionally-charged final screams of “Don’t tell me cause it hurts!”.

Take a look for yourself at what Hands Like Houses made of Don’t Speak below! Do you dig it, or does it taint the nostalgia you have for the No Doubt classic?
