Hannah Stow Unveils Heartfelt New Single ‘But I Lie’ Ahead of Debut EP ‘Sidelined’

Indie pop artist Hannah Stow has unveiled her latest single, But I Lie. This new offering is a sneak peek into her debut EP, Sidelined, set to drop on September 12th. Known for her sweet sapphic synth sound, Hannah’s music has already garnered attention with previous singles In The Dark and Dawson Road.

But I Lie blends slick guitar riffs with modern, pulsing synths, creating an electric indie-pop vibe with a touch of jazzy haze. The song dives deep into the emotional complexities of being in a relationship with a closeted partner, exploring themes of isolation, hope, and the challenges that arise from hiding one’s love. With her distinct Australian accent and raw, emotion-packed lyrics, Hannah captures the nuances of youth, connection, and secrets.

Reflecting on the song, Hannah shared that it touches on the difficulties of being hidden in a same-sex relationship.

“This song touches on the tribulations of being hidden in a same sex relationship… I wrote this song years ago… I decided it was too good not to release. I got Calvin Bennett to add some sexy guitar riffs and this quickly became a smooth listening track with a really raw meaning about love and identity.” – Hannah Stow.

But I Lie is a poignant, beautifully crafted track that leaves listeners with a lingering sense of introspection and a deeper understanding of the complexities of love and identity. It’s available now, everywhere.
