Harvey Sutherland Teams Up With They Hate Change for New Single ‘Running In Place’
Australian electronic innovator Harvey Sutherland has dropped his latest single, ‘Running In Place’, featuring acclaimed Tampa rap duo They Hate Change. The track offers another glimpse into Harvey’s upcoming album Debt, set for release on October 10, 2025.
Born from a chance meeting at Melbourne’s Miscellania nightclub, the collaboration sparked when Harvey, Vonne, and Dre bonded over their shared admiration for German minimalist Jan Jelinek. What followed was a trans-Pacific exchange of ideas and beats, culminating in ‘Running In Place’.

The track is a slick, woozy deep house roller, laced with They Hate Change’s sharp verses that tackle the relentless grind of modern life under capitalism. Themes of perseverance and purpose shine through with the duo’s mantra: “Stand tall like I’m ‘posed to.”
Speaking on the collaboration, Harvey said: “I respect the THC vision wholeheartedly – they are excellent MCs, producers and performers and are really pushing the sound forward. They are genuine omnivorous music freaks; I was so surprised when they’d even heard my last record, but when Vonne name-dropped Jan Jelinek in the club I knew we had to work together.”
‘Running In Place’ follows a string of acclaimed singles from Debt, including ‘Remember’ ft. Vicky Farewell, ‘Body Language’ ft. Julian Hamilton, ‘Hummingbird’, ‘Nobody Like U’, and ‘Cigarette.’ The record promises ten tightly crafted funk-infused microhouse cuts that reflect on the personal and financial cost of creativity in today’s digital age.
Harvey Sutherland will debut his new live A/V show in the U.S. this October before returning home for headline shows in Byron Bay, Brisbane, Melbourne, and Sydney. Tickets are on sale now.
