The Jezabels Have Come Back To Haunt You

The Jezabels have given us a taste of their upcoming album ‘Synthia’ with the release of their gothic, spell-binding video for lead single Pleasure Drive.

The video strikes an eerie resemblance to an episode of True Blood, set in a stereotypical American diner. Frontwoman Hayley Mary uses her haunting, mystical abilities to empower women to seize control from their autocratic spouses.

The intriguing pop-rock track begins with a high-pitched descending keyboard hook before settling into a creepy, driving verse spearheaded by Mary’s sultry vocal delivery. After a few airy bars showcasing the signature harmonies of Mary and Heather Shannon, the song explodes into a mammoth chorus (typical Jezabels!), leaving the verse for dead.

‘Synthia’ is The Jezabels’ third studio album, set for release on Friday 12 February.
