Hot Chip Announce Best Of Album Joy In Repetition Featuring New Track ‘Devotion’

Iconic UK indie dance outfit Hot Chip have announced their first-ever best of compilation, Joy In Repetition, set for release on September 5th. Spanning over two decades of innovative pop, the album captures the band’s evolution from DIY beginnings to festival headliners and Mercury Prize nominees.

The 15-track anthology brings together fan favourites and dancefloor anthems like Ready For The Floor, Over and Over, Boy From School and Flutes, while showcasing the band’s signature mix of infectious grooves and tender melancholy. As a special treat, Joy In Repetition also includes a brand-new song, Devotion — a lush psych-pop jam described by frontman Alexis Taylor as “a celebration of our devotion to doing this project together.”

The compilation’s artwork, created by legendary British artist Sir Peter Blake, features a playful nod to Over and Over with a painted monkey clashing tiny cymbals — perfectly encapsulating Hot Chip’s quirky charm.

“There’s joy in doing something again and again,” says Taylor. “That’s true of rhythms, of grooves and of making records together for 20 years. We’re still doing it. We still love doing it.”

To mark the release, Hot Chip will perform three exclusive shows in London, New York and Los Angeles this September.

Joy In Repetition is available for pre-order now on vinyl, CD and digital. Stream the lead single Devotion and watch its Japan-filmed video via Hot Chip’s official channels.
