Inside The Blueprint Project: Amanda Blue on Championing Australia’s Next Wave of Electronic Artists
With Australia’s dance and electronic music scene thriving at both grassroots and global levels, a new initiative is stepping in to support the next generation of talent. Spearheaded by Amanda Blue, founder of Blue Music Services, The Blueprint Project is a forward-thinking artist development program designed to give emerging producers real-world industry support, not just a fleeting spotlight. From tailored PR campaigns to A&R feedback, visual identity, and live performance opportunities, the initiative offers a full-circle approach to career growth. We caught up with Amanda to dive into the inspiration behind The Blueprint Project, what sets it apart, and why now is a pivotal moment for Australian electronic artists.
The Blueprint Project has just launched — congrats! What was the inspiration behind starting this initiative, and why now?
Thank you! After spending over a decade working in the dance/electronic scene, this project has been on my mind for a long time. The idea really came from working closely with so many incredible up-and-coming producers and seeing just how much talent is out there – but also how many barriers they run into when trying to break through. Whether it’s access to the right resources, making industry connections, or just finding media support within the genre, the path can be pretty tough on your own.
We wanted to build something that offers real, long-term value – not just a quick moment in the spotlight and then onto the next. And timing-wise, the Australian dance scene is in such a strong place right now, with some of our biggest global exports coming from electronic music. It just felt like the perfect time to give new artists a leg up.
You’re offering such a comprehensive prize pack — from PR and mentoring to stage time and A&R feedback. How did you decide what elements were most valuable for emerging artists?
When putting the prize pack together, we really focused on what would offer the most tangible value to emerging artists. PR, mentoring, A&R feedback, and performance opportunities are all critical components of building a sustainable career in music – and often the hardest to access without the right support. Each element was chosen to help artists develop both creatively and professionally, with long-term growth in mind rather than just a moment of exposure. The goal is to create a well-rounded support system that can genuinely help artists take the next step in their journey.
We are so grateful to all of our partners who have offered their product, time and resources to make this opportunity as impactful and career changing as possible – including Luude, Anna Lunoe, Sennheiser, Sarah Hamiltion (Golden Hour), Gabe Bravo (Golden Hour), Josh Hart-Vrijkotte, and Untitled. It’s that collective support that really brings this initiative to life.

There’s a lot of talk about Australian dance and electronic music booming globally. What makes this moment so exciting for local artists, and how does the Blueprint Project tap into that?
It’s an incredibly exciting time for Australian dance and electronic music – the rest of the world is really taking notice, and not just of the established names. There’s a raw, distinctive energy in the local scene that’s resonating globally.
With The Blueprint Project, we’re aiming to create more access points for emerging artists to tap into that momentum – to help them build visibility not only within Australia, but on an international scale as well. It’s about creating sustainable opportunities at a time when the spotlight on our scene has never been brighter.
The judging panel is stacked with some seriously respected names. What kind of qualities or potential will they be looking for in submissions?
We’re incredibly fortunate to have such a strong panel on board – each with deep roots and experience in the dance and electronic community. They all bring their own perspective, but what unites them is a keen ear for originality, authenticity, and a clear artistic identity.
It’s not about being perfectly polished or following trends – it’s about having something genuine to say and a sound that feels true to who you are. Even if you’re still developing that, that’s completely okay – the panel is looking for potential and promise just as much as the finished product.
For any producers or artists thinking of applying but feeling a bit hesitant — what would you say to encourage them to throw their hat in the ring?
Honestly, just go for it. Everyone starts somewhere, and this initiative is designed to support artists who are still finding their feet. You don’t need a huge following or a perfectly polished track – we’re interested in potential, authenticity, and creative vision.
It’s also an opportunity to get your music in front of a whole range of people across the industry, and when you’re just starting out, you really do have to take every lead. You never know who’s going to hear your work, or when something might click and open the next door. It’s all about putting yourself out there and building those early connections.
