Interview: Antoine

Melbourne-based R&B artist Antoine has just unveiled his infectious and hypnotic debut single ‘One Time’ – produced and mixed by ServidSounds and mastered by Mix Master Mike. We had a brief chat with Antoine to get to know him a little better.

Congratulations on the release of your debut single ‘One Time’, it must be pretty exciting to release your first track, how do you feel now it’s out?

I don’t know how we feel! We feel great, but also relieved, nervous, excited. A lot of mixed feels, but all positive and excited to ride this wave with the team.

How did your music journey begin? Has music been something you have always wanted to pursue as a career?

I started rapping with my cousin from St Louis when we were young. Just as lil troublemakers haha. Then growing up I used to just write song after song everyday as a kid on word. Music is in my blood, it’s my truest passion as cliché as it is, but definitely something I’ve always wanted to pursue.

You have partnered with Rebook for the accompanying music video for ‘One Time’, tell us about the experience of creating the video.

Yeah shoutout to Reebok for the drip. Appreciate them. The video is dope, ServidSounds and I always had a concept of this being a “dance” type video. We linked up with an amazingly talented crew who put all the pieces together and created an absolute vibe. We all had a lot of fun, it was all smiles, no bad energy at all. Which really just sums up this track as a whole.

What are your interests outside of music?

Not much hey haha. Nah I love NBA, big day one Pacers fan, and AFL too, big Cats man!

Do you have big goals in music for the rest of the year? Can we expect more Antoine music soon?

We ready, that’s all I have to say. The music is in the bank for real. None of this “yeah next month, but not really.” Haha. It’s ready, we ready. The music is OTW!

One Time is available now, everywhere.
