Interview: Krooked Kings Chat About Their New Album, ‘All Out of Good Days’

Following on from a mammoth sold-out west coast US tour including SXSW, Salt Lake City-based outfit Krooked Kings have released their new album, All Out of Good Days. A vibrant 10-track release that is packed with energy. Today we have a chat with the band to find out more about the release and recent tour.

Congrats on the release of the new album, how does it feel to have it out in the world?

We are so excited to finally be able to get these out, we are all really proud of this album and excited to see the opportunities its going to bring

What was it like working in the studio with Day Wave?

Jackson was a really cool and easy-going produce for us, we worked well as a group being able to bounce ideas off each other which I think only made the songs better.

You have just finished a sold out West Coast tour, how many shows did you play on the tour?

It was so cool to go out and see everyone their for our music, rather than opening for someone else. We honestly lost track but it was around 20 shows, we played a lot in a short amount of time in Austin and SXSW

What was your favourite venue/city to perform at?

I think all of us can agree that Seattle was one of the best shows of the tour, though its hard because each place/venues shines in its own way

How did you guys go at SXSW, is it as fun as everyone raves about?

SXSW was a really cool vibe but it was very hectic which we were warned about. I think we all want to go back and see Austin without a giant festival in the middle.

Now that the album is out what is next for Krooked Kings?

We are doing a short support tour at the end of may supporting rodrigo y gabriela which we are excited about, then we have some other minor plans this summer but mainly gearing up for our North American tour this fall

What’s your favourite place to hang out in Salt Lake City?

It depends on all of us but we all love getting out into nature whether that’s in the mountains or just on a golf course

Can we expect an Australian tour anytime soon?

We are hoping we can get over there sooner rather than later, it’s definitely a big goal of the band to tour Australia.
