Introducing: R&B Angel Anieszka

Rising Sydney R&B force Anieszka just dropped her new EP ‘Human’ and provided us with a starter pack of her favourite tracks.

After releasing the lead single ‘Human’ last month, she’s now shared the full ‘Human’ EP, offering up a soothing fusion of R&B and soul tones. Sure to be a hit with fans of Summer Walker, SZA, Kehlani and Isaiah Rashad, Anieszka’s rich vocals shine throughout the 8 song collection. An exciting collaboration between a bunch of Sydney sonic guns, Aneiszka put together the EP with the help of producers Chelsea Warner, Lui Mateer, Marley Rooney and Stefan Iyapah; as well as Diego Raposo on mixing and mastering.

Aneiszka explained more about ‘Human’, saying: “This EP amalgamates all the different parts of who I am and what has become transparent to me in recent years. I feel like what we’ve gone through as a collective over the past couple of years has had a unique effect on all of us. For me, it brought clarity and confidence to write from an authentic place within me. Each song in this body of work speaks to our many human facets. Whether it is to be more present, be more true, be more forgiving yet conscious of our choices, or know we are worthy of love and good things. To voice our fears when we do love someone, to not be afraid to express our sensual selves, to practice gratitude for both our emotions and senses or to remind us of our humanity – Human is a sonic journey of healing. Whilst we all have varying experiences of being alive, I feel this body of work is a moment of interconnectedness, where listeners know they are not alone on their journey.”

Get further insight into her vibe with five of her favourite records below:

Alicia Keys: Diary of Alicia Keys & Element of Freedom

I couldn’t pick between these two –  I started singing her songs when I was eight, Alicia Keys forever!

Bob Marley: Legend

This encompasses my love for reggae and the island girl in me.

Michael Jackson: Bad

There’s a lot of depth to MJ’s songs, they’ve helped me through some weird times in my life and taught me to not be afraid of writing with vulnerability.

Lauryn Hill: The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill

A true classic, my love for R&B was cemented with this album.

Kaya et Racinetatane: Seggae man

A very special album that nurtured my connection to my Mauritian roots.
