Ivey Share Their Top 5 Euphoric Break Up Songs

Indie darlings, Ivey have recently released their heartbreak single and video, Back Home. It’s a moving tune about moving on from a love that was.

I wrote ‘Back Home’ a month after a big breakup. The breakup was messy, he was partying a lot, I was trying to hold on to a love that had gone and I had to move back to my mum and dad’s house. I was devastated, I found a lot of help through being with the boys, writing music and listening to sad songs in my car. I loved how those songs were/are so truthful and how you can really hear the pain and hurt in an artist’s voice – I wanted a song like that. We all sat in the studio on a Tuesday night as normal and I poured my heart out. I love this song – it healed me. I hope you love it too.” –Millie, Ivey

To celebrate the release Ivey have shared with us their top 5 euphoric break up songs.

Feels Like We Only Go Backwards’ – Tame Impala :

Drive to a pretty lookout, sit in your car, put this song on and just cry. This song just lets you feel all the feels.

‘In My Head’ – Ariana Grande :

I think I played this song 100 times around the time we wrote ‘Back Home’… if you are going through a break up just listen.

‘Hard Feelings/Loveless’ – Lorde :

This entire album is the ultimate breakup anthem. I love this song in particular because it talks about flipping the love you had for someone else and giving that love to yourself.

Falling Apart’ – Broods :

This song is amazing drive and cry too. It really just makes you feel the emotions you need to feel at the time of a breakup.

‘Sober’ – Childish Gambino :

My go-to breakup/bottle of wine/ice cream song. I think it really captures the feelings of a breakup and not wanting to deal with your emotions.

Ivey’s new jam, Back Home is available now, everywhere.
