Ivey Unveil Emotional New EP ‘Silver Linings,’ Capturing Grief and Hope
Australian indie-pop band Ivey have released their highly anticipated six-track EP, Silver Linings, featuring the heartfelt lead single of the same name. With this new project, the Gold Coast-formed, London-based four-piece showcases some of their most personal and evocative songwriting to date.
Silver Linings blends Ivey’s signature indie-pop beats, melodic guitar lines, and a driving bass, creating a sonic experience reminiscent of early 2000s indie-electro pop. The EP is a raw reflection on the band’s journey over the past two years, shaped by both loss and resilience.

In 2022, brothers Lachlan and Matthew McGuffie lost their father, Adam, to suicide—a figure who was more than a protector but a tour manager and best friend to the band. The EP’s title track was the first song written in the wake of this tragedy, serving as both a cathartic release and a tribute to Adam’s memory.
“Putting together this EP has been both heartbreaking and healing. It is a coin, with two sides: one deals with confusion, suffering, anger, anguish, and sorrow, while the other reflects hope, love, friendship, discovery, support, and healing.” – Ivey.
Ivey’s latest work, which follows standout singles like Life Goes On and Pessimism, has already drawn support from some of the worlds bigger tastemakers. As they prepare for more live shows, including an upcoming performance in Brighton, Ivey are set to continue their journey of healing through music.
This month we raise awareness for Suicide Prevention … if you or anyone you know is experiencing grief, loss, depression, or anxiety and needs support, help is available 24/7 from Lifeline and Beyond Blue … information available at Lifeline HERE and Beyond Blue HERE.
