J-Pop Star Kyary Pamyu Pamyu Is Coming Down Under!
J-pop megastar Kyary Pamyu Pamyu is making her highly anticipated return to Australia this June. Performing two exclusive shows at Big Top, Luna Park in Sydney and Festival Hall, Melbourne as part of the ‘KPP 5ive Years Monster World Tour 2016’. This tour marks Kyary’s first time visiting Australia since her sold-out Sydney show in 2014 and marks her first ever show in Melbourne.
The announcement came after Kyary posted a fittingly strange video on her 23rd birthday. According to my good friend Google Translate, the title roughly translates to be “Carry Pamyu emergency surgery!? Hospitalisation!? Transport!?”, which doesn’t seem totally correct.
Kyary has been something of an internet phenomenon, having over 6 million followers on social media collectively, including over 280, 000 on YouTube, where each of her videos have amassed upwards of 12 million views. With her most popular video being the fever-dream colour explosion, PONPONPON.
