Jack Gray Reflects on Reckless Youth in New Single ‘Dumb Sh*t’

Australian singer-songwriter Jack Gray is back with his first release of 2025, the nostalgic and effortlessly cool single, ‘Dumb Sh*t’.

Now based in LA, Gray captures the messy beauty of youth in this laidback track, pairing breezy acoustic guitars with sharp, evocative lyrics. Co-written with Jon Hume and Jillian Shea, and self-produced by Gray himself, ‘Dumb Sh*t’ recalls high school days spent making mistakes, taking risks, and believing you were invincible.

It’s really about those years in high school and that feeling of just being foolish, spending time with your mates and trying things for the first time. Feeling like you can do anything and just blame it on being young, or young at heart,Jack Gray.

The song’s music video, created with friends and filmmakers Bryce Gheisar, Jem Matthews, and Miles Murphy, feels like a Polaroid come to life—a warm, chaotic short film disguised as a memory.

Originally from Mackay, Queensland, and now a multi-instrumentalist and producer in his own right, Gray has spent the past year crafting his debut album, scoring films, and even landing cuts with K-pop artists. He’s no stranger to the stage either, having toured with Tate McRae, Matt Corby, and Mahalia. This August, he’ll join Daniel Seavey on his rescheduled ‘Second Wind Tour’.

Stream ‘Dumb Sh*t’ now and get ready for more from Jack Gray’s highly anticipated debut album.
