Jake Bugg Nails Like A Version of HAIM‘s “If I Could Change Your Mind”

After killing it in his country with his self-titled debut album back in 2012, Jake Bugg’s talent and fiery tunes have definitely found their way across the world to Australia.

The British troubadour’s latest album ‘On My One’ is currently making a splash on Aussie airwaves, and he’s just wrapped up his few Splendour In The Grass sideshows. The singer-songwriter graced the triple j studios to deliver a beautiful, acoustic guitar driven cover of HAIM’s If I Could Change Your Mind.

If you don’t swoon over the accent or the sleek silk jacket you’ll definitely swoon over the slow paced guitar riffs and Bugg’s dreamy, echoing vocals. He did a complete 180 of the song, switching up the original pop-rock sound to produce a more gentle and slightly emotional version, thanks largely to the simple dual guitar arrangement.

Not only are his vocals a focal point but towards the end Bugg showcases some insane talent on the guitar, diving into an impressive short solo that’ll have your ears begging for more.

Even though the song is almost unrecognisable it really accentuates Bugg’s own hearty, acoustic style of music and this cover is definitely something to be commended for, nice job mate!
