Jess Cullity Confronts Truth and Vulnerability on New Indie-Pop Single Shadow Love

Perth indie-pop rising star Jess Cullity has unveiled her fourth single, Shadow Love — a raw and deeply vulnerable track that explores the painful clarity of seeing someone for who they truly are.

At just 22, Cullity has been carving a name for herself with her honest songwriting and intricate vocal delivery, drawing listeners into intimate stories of love, heartbreak, and resilience. Shadow Love continues that journey, opening with a haunting voicemail before unfolding into delicate guitar lines, soaring strings, and Cullity’s unmistakable vocals, which shift from gentle to commanding as the song builds.

Lyrically, the track speaks to the moment when the veil of illusion slips — when trust is shattered, and reality sets in. It captures both the sting of betrayal and the strength that comes with finally seeing clearly.

“’Shadow Love’ is about the aftermath of a relationship – when their mask slips and you see someone for who they really are. It explores the illusion we fall for, even when we’re warned, because deep down, we believe we’ll be the exception.”Jess Cullity.

Both introspective and powerful, Shadow Love showcases Cullity’s ability to craft indie-pop that is emotionally gripping yet sonically expansive. With each release, she continues to establish herself as one of Perth’s most promising new voices in Australian pop.
