Joan & The Giants Unveil Powerful New Single ‘How Could You?’

Perth indie rock band Joan & The Giants return with their electrifying new single, How Could You? The track, a rollercoaster of emotions set to a daydreamy indie-rock sound, captures the essence of betrayal and the chaotic feelings that follow. Featuring up-tempo melodies, mournful vocals, and ethereal guitar riffs, this song blends contrasting elements to create an unforgettable listening experience.

Fronted by Grace Newton-Wordsworth, the band weaves a journey of raw emotion through the track’s bright yet sorrowful tones, culminating in a cathartic finale. Inspired by personal betrayal, Newton-Wordsworth explains how the song mirrors the disconnect between outward composure and internal turmoil.

“When a person breaks all the trust you once had in them it isn’t just sad, it’s completely chaotic. I was going through life still doing all the things I have to do like working multiple jobs, playing shows, seeing friends and family – whilst  internally, I was screaming.”Grace Newton-Wordsworth.

Accompanying the single is a charming, self-directed studio music video, shot by Isabelle Haubrich, which highlights the band’s infectious energy and chemistry as they perform.

Fans can also look forward to a limited-edition 7″ vinyl featuring the band’s Baked Sessions alongside Seb Szabo, available for pre-order now via Impressed Recordings.
