Jordan Rakei’s New Single Has Got Everyone Talking

Brisbane-born soul singer Jordan Rakei is turning heads worldwide with his latest single Talk To Me. The release follows Rakei’s successful string of Australian and New Zealand shows in February, and precedes his debut album ‘Cloak’. Jazz piano, dreamy synthesisers, a sultry dance rhythm, and Rakei’s smooth vocal delivery make for a soothing, sophisticated intro, filled with subtle chord complexities.

In three minutes, Talk To Me perfectly demonstrates the beauty of simplicity. The first half of the track thrives on a simple instrumental melody and a soft, jazz-inspired drum rhythm. At the two-minute mark the drums intensify, building the track into a Latin dance number that could get just about anyone tapping their feet.

Talk To Me is an impressive follow-up to Rakei’s debut single The Light, and we would expect nothing less from a protege of UK chart-toppers Disclosure and Sam Smith.
