Josef Scott Unveils Reflective New EP ‘Beacon Hill’
New York-based singer-songwriter Josef Scott has officially released his highly anticipated new EP, Beacon Hill, a deeply introspective collection of songs that explore themes of nostalgia, growth, and self-discovery.
Following the success of his recent singles Picture Me, Cold, Field of Dreams, and Again, the EP introduces a brand-new track, Everything—a mesmerising blend of groovy guitars, brooding basslines, and intricate acoustics, all tied together by Scott’s soulful, emotive vocals. Lyrically, the song serves as a poignant reminder that life’s journey isn’t always linear, and sometimes, looking back is necessary to move forward.
Josef describes Beacon Hill as a project born from the experience of returning home and confronting the realization that both he and the place he left behind had changed.
“Beacon Hill is a project about returning home and realising that home isn’t the same, and maybe I’m not either. I never intended it as a continuation of my previous EP Joy Street, but as the songs came together, I saw the bigger picture. Going back to New Zealand after a year of adversity, growth, and change felt like stepping into the past. It was comforting, but it also made me question everything I had worked toward.
