JP Klipspringer’s New Single “Can’t Be” Is Chill AF
Melbourne producer and songwriter JP Klipspringer is back again with another fresh cut from his upcoming debut album, due out in September.
After two EP’s, a few east-coast tours, and a string of singles, Klipspringer’s new single demonstrates his ability to create diverse indie tunes while flexing his creative muscle.
Can’t Be brings together glassy guitars and clean drum beats that feel big without crowding the mix. Drawing inspiration from parts of Southern America, Can’t Be utilises some gorgeous Gospel choir style harmonisation throughout. The track makes use of rich bass work alongside layered synthesiser takes that blend into the background. This song is definitely your cup of tea if you’re into The Postal Service, Tom Petty, or Paul Dempsey!
Klipspringer’s new single feels remarkably different to his previous single The Beast, which transitioned between overdriven guitars, large synth chops, and glitchy music-box samples. Despite taking a more progressive structure, Can’t Be provides an interesting look into how diverse Klipspringer’s album may sound.
Can’t Be will be out digitally from the 15th of July, so you’ll have to check out below the classical Hollywood inspired video for it to tide you over…
