Australian artist JVLY, has just released his latest single LOCUM, offering fans another glimpse into his upcoming EP, SUNDER. Following last month’s sultry track SOUTH, JVLY’s new single dives even deeper into emotional terrain, mixing tender melodies with an intense, raw lyrical message.

Described by JVLY as the most intense song on the SUNDER EP, LOCUM pairs soulful chords, emotive strings, and D’Angelo-inspired guitar riffs to create a smooth yet haunting soundscape. However, the lyrics take on a different tone, as JVLY sheds light on the harsher realities of human nature, unfiltered and direct. “I think LOCUM is probably the most intense song on SUNDER, but it’s so ironic to me. It has this kind of tender and emotive tone sonically, with the soulful chords and strings and the D’Angelo inspired guitars, but the words are definitely not tender. I didn’t want to coat this part of the story in any sugar either, it’s a reflection of the selfish nature of humans sometimes, so it has to be honest, even if a bit brutal.” – JVLY.
