JVLY Teases Forthcoming EP ‘SUNDER’ with New Single ‘SOUTH’

Australian singer/songwriter JVLY, known for his smooth blend of indie-R&B and soul, has unveiled his latest single, SOUTH, offering fans the first taste of his upcoming EP Sunder. The project, spearheaded by JVLY (Kayle Butler), promises a conceptual journey, with each track weaving together a cohesive narrative.

South marks the beginning of this immersive experience, co-produced with JVLY’s long-time collaborator Cal from daste. The track combines lush, wonky keys with a driving groove, reflecting the cyclical nature of life’s challenges. JVLY describes the song as a reflection on those familiar loops we find ourselves stuck in, even when we know better.

SOUTH started with an idea my friend Cal (from daste.) had sent me a while before. He co-produced it with me. The track touches on the inevitable loops we find ourselves in sometimes, even when we know better. When reason is there to see but you kind of look away. The wonky keys and the constant groove give it this driving energy, and I like the irony of that.” –  JVLY.

Inspired visually by iconic films such as Enter the Void and Requiem for a Dream, Sunder aims to pull listeners into a unique sonic world, with SOUTH offering a tantalising glimpse of what’s to come.
