Kanye’s New G.O.O.D Friday Release Features Kendrick Lamar
Kanye West’s G.O.O.D (Getting Out Our Dreams) Fridays continues with his first collaboration with superstar rapper Kendrick Lamar.
No More Parties in L.A is the third G.O.O.D Friday release in the lead up to Yeezy’s upcoming album ‘Swish’, which is set for release Thursday 11th February.
Produced by Madlib, the track sports samples from Junie Morrison’s Suzie Thundertussy and Ghotstface Killah’s Mighty Healthy, a sample some listeners may recognise from Yeezy’s and Pusha T’s New God Flow.
G.O.O.D Fridays was originally started in support for Yeezy’s ‘My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy’ in 2010. Only three of the 15 songs released were featured on ‘MBDTF’, the rest seemed to be outlets for Kanye to flex his pull and show off the label’s roster, releasing tracks that featured Justin Bieber and Raekwon or having half of the roster feature on the same track.
The current G.O.O.D Friday releases show more of a departure from ‘Yeezus’ with the aggression toward fame and publicity replaced by a more laidback braggadocio.
