Kat Greta Captures the Magic of the Australian Summer in New Single ‘Summer Daze’
Multi-instrumentalist Kat Greta is back with her latest single, Summer Daze, a vibrant, nostalgia-infused track that pays tribute to the warmth and joy of the Australian summer. The track blends a retro 60s influence with a fresh, modern twist, showcasing Kat’s signature free-spirited style and deep personal connection to the music.
Drawing inspiration from legends like Burt Bacharach, The Seekers, and The Beatles, Summer Daze is a melodic celebration of sun-drenched days, family traditions, and the fleeting nature of cherished memories. The track took years to perfect, with Kat weaving elements of her Italian heritage and Australian upbringing into a song that feels both timeless and deeply personal.
“I feel like I’m sharing my most authentic self in this song. Recreating the essence of the ‘60s in a new way was a challenge—it’s not the kind of song that people would expect to hear these days. This song is my love letter to the Australian summer, but it’s also about holding on to the things that matter, especially as I navigate my own cultural identity. As both of my parents are unwell and I’ve lost close family members recently, I’ve been reflecting a lot on what it means to preserve traditions, memories, and the feeling of belonging. This song is my attempt to honour those pieces of myself—my Italian heritage and my connection to Australia—while embracing change.” – Kat Greta.

Co-produced and mixed by Lindsay Gravina (The Living End, Magic Dirt, Jet), the track embraces a bold \60s pop aesthetic while maintaining a contemporary energy. Accompanying the release is a playful music video, filmed at Mt Martha’s iconic beach boxes, where Kat performs multiple roles in a creative, lighthearted twist.
Summer Daze sees Kat Greta continue to establish herself as a unique voice in the indie music scene, blending classic influences with modern storytelling.
