Katie Reid Unveils Haunting New Single, ‘6 Feet Under’

Sydney-based indie artist Katie Reid has returned with her evocative new single, 6 Feet Under. The moody indie rock track captures Reid’s signature sound, blending haunting vocals with delicate guitar melodies and driving beats.

Rising through the ranks of Australia’s music scene, Reid first gained recognition performing backing vocals for icons like Guy Sebastian, Christine Anu, and Drapht. She has since established herself as a talented solo artist, performing alongside notable Australian bands like Joan & the Giants and Little Quirks. Her songwriting prowess earned her a first-place win in ‘The Great Southern Song Competition’ for her track Healing.

The track evolves from a ghostly, introspective opening into a more hopeful, uplifting sound, reflecting the emotional journey of moving on. Reid’s ethereal vocals perfectly convey the bittersweet experience of heartbreak and healing.

“This person throughout the relationship didn’t treat me with compassion or kindness, therefore I held on to a lot of shame for loving them. I began writing the verses in the last few weeks of our relationship, trying to make sense of my conflicted feelings. It felt as though they exited the relationship unscathed and that really irked me as I was in a lot of pain. I created this song to try and rid myself of the anger and shame I was feeling.” – Katie Reid.

Fans of moody indie rock will find 6 Feet Under a must-listen, showcasing Katie Reid’s ability to craft songs that resonate deeply with listeners while offering a captivating sonic escape.
