Kendrick Lamar’s Return to Australian Stages: What To Expect

Kendrick Lamar is set to return to Australian stages this December as the headliner for the 2025 Spilt Milk Festival, marking his first performance in the country since his standout set at Splendour in the Grass in 2018. Fans across Ballarat, Perth, Canberra, and the Gold Coast are eagerly anticipating his return, especially following the festival’s cancellation in 2024.

What to Expect from Kendrick’s Spilt Milk Performances

Currently, Kendrick is co-headlining the ‘Grand National Tour’ with SZA in the U.S., delivering nearly three-hour performances featuring a 52-song setlist.  The tour heavily showcases tracks from his latest album, GNX, including songs like “Wacced Out Murals” and “TV Off.”

However, given the festival setting and his long-awaited return to Australia, it’s anticipated that Kendrick will offer a more comprehensive setlist at Spilt Milk. Fans can likely expect a blend of his greatest hits spanning his entire discography—from good kid, m.A.A.d city and To Pimp a Butterfly to DAMN. and Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers. His 2018 Splendour performance was lauded for its energy and depth, and a similar approach is anticipated this time around.

A Stellar Lineup Beyond Kendrick

Spilt Milk 2025 boasts a diverse lineup, including U.S. rapper Doechii, who recently topped Australian charts with her hit “Anxiety,” and fellow TDE artist ScHoolboy Q. Other notable acts include Dominic Fike, techno DJ Sara Landry, and Australian bands The Rions and South Summit.
