KEZRA Reveals Tranquil New Single, ‘Another Life’

Naarm/Melbourne indie-folk artist KEZRA makes her debut in country music with her new single, ‘Another Life‘ – produced and mixed by Stephen Mowat (Gretta RayTyne-James OrganWilsn) and mastered by George Georgiadis (Dope LemonGuy Sebastian, Matt CorbyJack River).

‘Another Life’ opens with a moody chord progression setting the stage for KEZRA’s intimate vocals navigating the inner conflict of wondering what could have been. Delicate verses give way to an uplifting country-inspired chorus with laid back grooves, ambient guitar and accompanying leads to create a sun-soaked dreamy soundscape. Elevated by a warm, smooth production, the song sways between wistful longing and hopeful daydreaming, effortlessly capturing the bittersweet ache of being connected to someone you can’t have.

KEZRA shares the process of writing ‘Another Life’:

“This one was a bit of a cheeky/fun write for me. Usually, I write sad, deep songs but this was formed by a rhythmic jam I started on my acoustic guitar which set the tone for the whole song.

I wrote it about meeting someone for the first time who you feel so deeply connected to – you don’t know why or how as you don’t really know them at all – but there’s this instant lust/love kind of feeling, that makes you feel like you’ve known them for a lifetime. Becoming hyper-fixated over the idea of what they would be like in a relationship if they took a chance on you, but they’re with someone else.”

Drawing inspiration from icons like Fleetwood MacMaggie Rogers, and Kacey Musgraves, KEZRA channels her deepest emotions into introspective songwriting. Her live presence has been just as impactful – selling out her debut single launch before taking the stage at Let Go Fest alongside G Flip,Mallrat, and Slum Sociable, as well as performing at major sporting events like the Australian Open and the F1 Melbourne Grand Prix.

Another Life is available worldwide now.
