King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard Get Cultish With New Single

King Gizz Vid Still

The Prolific septet King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard have given us the first taste from their eighth album ‘Nonagon Infinity’, due to grace our earholes on Friday 29th April. True to King Giz form, single Gamma Knife is mesmerisingly kinetic and will blow your socks off Kraut-rock style.

Accompanying the track it is an occult style video that sends you back in time to a strange ceremonial setting filled with face painted bearded men and of course a giant egg with a geometric symbol painted in the centre. If this is a testament to what the rest of the album is like, we’re seriously excited!

Frontman Stu Mackenzie says the concept album has been produced to be played as a continuous loop.

“We’d grab a little riff here or a little groove there, and we’d jam on them and form songs. I wanted to have an album where all these riffs and grooves just kept coming in and out the whole time, so a song wasn’t just a song, it was part of a loop, part of this whole experience where it feels like it doesn’t end and doesn’t need to end,” said Mackenzie.

Having been in the making for over two years now, the world’s first infinite looping album will be exploring a culmination of heavier psych rock, beach pop, prog rock, and folk. Mackenzie also says the songs focus on what feels good live, so we can only expect a stellar live sets when Australian dates are announced!
