Krystal Rivvers Explore Late-Night Longing on New Alt-Rock Single ‘Prisoner’
Eora/Sydney-based band Krystal Rivvers return with their haunting new single ‘Prisoner’, a brooding alt-rock cut produced by Jack Moffitt (The Preatures) and engineered by Reyne House (Dope Lemon, The Delta Riggs).
Blending atmospheric guitars and introspective lyricism, ‘Prisoner’ explores the emotional push and pull between desire and disconnection. Lead vocalist Earl Weir delivers a raw performance, complemented by a striking chorus from Polly Cooper (Hatchling), whose ethereal vocals elevate the track’s emotional weight.

“Prisoner is the result of a late night out in the city and returning home to rough out some ideas on the acoustic guitar and voice memo. It’s about wanting what you don’t need – and needing what you can’t quite hold onto. The hook had a lot of back and forth, and we thought Polly would be perfect to bring the brightness it needed; her lead vocal really lights it up.” – Earl Weir, Krystal Rivvers.
The release follows Krystal Rivvers’ rising momentum, including a sold-out hometown run, a set at Lost Paradise (2024), and support slots with Kingswood, Sloan Peterson, and These New South Whales.
To celebrate, the band will headline three intimate east coast shows in Eora/Sydney, Naarm/Brunswick, and Bundjalung/Byron Bay.
Frontman Earl Weir, a proud First Nations artist and community leader, also runs the Mullet PRO mental health surf comp and hosts a radio show amplifying Indigenous voices.
With comparisons to The War On Drugs and Wolf Alice, Krystal Rivvers continue their rise as one of Australia’s most compelling new alt-rock acts.
