Melbourne via Sunshine Coast hip hop artist Kudos has blown us away with his debut single Plucker! The track puts a fresh and gritty twist on the signature sound that is Aussie rap, proving the Noosa Heads-raised rapper has well a force to be reckoned with.

Plucker features a funky bass line throughout which is contrasted by the organic fluidity of Kudos’ raps and killer vocals. He chooses not to sugar-coat his rhymes in the debut single, instead keeping the his lyrics straight-up, relatable, and inspiring. Meanwhile, he uses clever syncopated rhythms in his catchy hook to add another dimension to the track. Kudos’ sheer determination resonates from the track and will definitely get you up and moving!

Growing up on the Sunshine Coast with his magician father and emcee brother, it’s no surprise Kudos is a natural entertainer. He broke into the South East Queensland hip hop circuit after winning the Spring Hip Hop Festival/Real Talk MC Throwdown in 2011. The natural wordsmith has since performed alongside artists like Atmosphere, Mantra, and Afrika Bambaataa, and now based in Melbourne, Kudos is one of the most promising artists in the Australian hip hop scene!
