Laneway Festival 2026 Announces Dates, New Venues, and 21st Birthday Celebrations

Australia and New Zealand’s favourite summer music event, Laneway Festival, has officially announced its 2026 festival dates — with the full Laneway Festival 2026 lineup set to drop this Thursday, September 18, at 8:10am AEST.

Celebrating its 21st birthday, Laneway Festival will return in February 2026 with a refreshed route across six cities, including a brand-new home on the Gold Coast and updated venues in Adelaide and Perth.

After nearly a decade of unforgettable shows in Brisbane, the festival will head south for the very first time, debuting at Southport Sharks on the Gold Coast. With the Brisbane site preparing for development ahead of the 2032 Olympics, organisers say the timing was right to find a new home. The Southport location promises an intimate yet expansive setting, easy stage-to-stage access, and excellent transport connections — perfect for fans eager to experience Laneway in a new light.

In Adelaide, Laneway Festival 2026 will move to the Adelaide Showgrounds, bringing improved infrastructure and facilities to enhance the audience experience. Meanwhile, in Perth, the festival will shift to Arena Joondalup, a larger space offering upgraded production capabilities.

Laneway favourites Sydney’s Centennial Park and Melbourne’s Flemington Park will return as host venues, while Auckland’s Western Springs will once again kick off the trans-Tasman tour.

Laneway Festival co-founders Danny Rogers and Jerome Borazio reflected on the milestone:

“It’s incredible to be celebrating 21 years of Laneway. What began as a little street party in a Melbourne laneway has grown into a summer ritual across Australia and New Zealand. Every year we’re blown away by the response from the artists, fans, and community that make Laneway so special — 2026 is about honouring that history while looking to the future.”
