Lashes Reaches For The Sky On Her Brand New Single, ‘Heavenly’
Melbourne artist, Lashes has today unveiled her second release of the year, Heavenly. It follows on from her recent single, Luv Is Blind and carries on with that familiar electro-pop sound we’ve come to know from Lashes.
Heavenly was written and recorded with Jackson McRae (George Alice/Allday) and mastered by Samuel K Sproull (Japanese Wallpaper/ Eliza and The Delusionals). It’s a classic blend of modern alt pop with hints of warm and lush synth vibes. Big drum patterns are washed with sundrenched chord progressions.
“I really like lyrically dense, emotionally driven music, as well as the experimental elements these artists incorporate, I’m influenced by my own personal experiences and am writing constantly. I find it very therapeutic to sort of purge out my thoughts and feelings onto paper.”
“‘Heavenly’ is a mixed bag of emotions for me. A few years ago, I fell really hard for a friend of mine. It wasn’t meant to be, but I felt the most “myself” I’d ever felt when I was around this person, and that was a really difficult thing to let go of. The song is about all of the things that are left unsaid, and all those moments of looking back on the times shared, wondering if they cast you in the same light you cast them in.” – Lashes
Yet again Lashes has flexed on her ability to create catchy, quality vibes. Heavenly is available now, everywhere.
