Late 90’s Deliver Raw New Single ‘Low’ and Win Crowds at BIGSOUND 2025
Perth/Boorloo alt-rock outfit Late 90’s released their powerful new single ‘Low’ just a week before hitting the stages at BIGSOUND 2025, and the timing couldn’t have been more perfect. The track became a standout moment of their showcases, drawing praise for its visceral emotion and gritty alt-rock energy.
A song that wrestles with themes of self-hatred, self-love, and the endless search for balance, Low resonated with BIGSOUND audiences. The single’s fierce riffs and soaring dynamics translated into an electrifying live performance, solidifying Late 90’s as one of the breakout acts of the festival.

“‘Low’ is about that internal monologue of self love and self loathing – knowing you’re heading off course and wanting to be better but you just don’t know how, and then beating yourself up for it,” the band explains.
Recorded at Emerald Room Studios with frontman Stephen Loreck stepping into the producer’s chair for the first time, the track embodies the band’s DIY spirit. With mixing by Emmett Carroll and mastering by Brodie Stewart, ‘Low’ captures both raw vulnerability and polished alt-rock intensity.
With its cathartic energy and striking reception at BIGSOUND, ‘Low’ is a defining moment for Late 90’s, proving they’re a band ready to break beyond Perth’s borders.
