Lennon Wells Drop Swagger-Filled New Single ‘Baddie’ with Striking Hobart Video

Nipaluna/Hobart rock ‘n’ roll outfit Lennon Wells have unleashed their infectious new single Baddie, a strutting anthem of unapologetic confidence and pure rock energy. Produced alongside Alistair Campbell and mixed by Andrew Hassler (A. Swayze & The Ghosts), Baddie pairs funky, syncopated basslines with razor-sharp guitars and the charismatic vocals of frontman Ben Wells.

Featuring gospel-tinged backing harmonies from Hobart’s The DK Effect, the track embodies self-assured swagger.

“‘Baddie’ is about feeling like king shit and being unapologetic for it. Having the strut to back it up. There’s this weird stigma in Australia about feeling good about yourself, like tall poppy syndrome. ‘Baddie’ is about wearing that feeling with pride. In this economy, if you still manage to back yourself, that’s a talent.”

The single arrives with a captivating music video directed by Harrison Dwyer (Hotwax Creative) and Ben himself. Starring local icon Lee Power—artist, author, and Paradise Lost owner—the clip sees Power dancing solo through Hobart’s streets, oozing style and confidence.

Known for their electric live shows and DIY warehouse parties, Lennon Wells are set to play two secret gigs in late July. With a cult following and a recent feature on Netflix’s The Survivors, Lennon Wells prove with Baddie that they’re one of Tasmania’s most exciting rock exports.

Baddie is streaming worldwide now.
