Lloyd & The Leftovers Unveil Debut Album Spin The Wheel: An Honest Journey Through Life, Loss and Hope
Walyalup-based indie-folk group Lloyd & The Leftovers have just dropped their long-awaited debut album, Spin The Wheel — a heartfelt, 11-track collection that blends indie-folk, country, and rock into a deeply personal sonic journey.
After two years in the making, the album showcases the raw storytelling and emotional depth of songwriter Luke Giglia-Smith, drawing from real-life experiences and inner reckonings. The opening track “Fruit and Wine” sets the tone with a warm, country-infused groove that explores the bittersweet feeling of leaving a familiar place behind. As the album unfolds, it moves from energetic rock moments like “Kaarta Koomba”, a powerful reflection on the mistreatment of First Nations Peoples, to introspective, melancholic offerings like “Listen to Invalidate” and the devastatingly tender “Cowboy.”

Themes of grief, depression, self-reflection and renewal are woven throughout, with standout tracks like “Breathe, Says The Sign”, an emotional tribute to a lost friend — and “Why Won’t You Wait”, which touches on the aching desire for connection and understanding.
Closing out with the harmonica-laced title track, Spin The Wheel ends on a hopeful note, encouraging listeners to embrace uncertainty with open arms.
To celebrate the release, Lloyd & The Leftovers will perform the album live at Clancy’s Fish Pub on August 23, joined by Didion’s Bible, Clare Perrott, and Jack Carroll Band.
Spin The Wheel is available now, everywhere.
