Old School Thrashers Machine Head Release New Single “Is There Anybody Out There?”

Bay Area metal titans Machine Head have enjoyed an unstoppable 20+ years at the forefront of metal, and they’ve done so with their integrity and pioneering creativity intact. Now they’re back, following their 2014’s ‘Bloodstone & Diamonds’, with a brand new stand-alone single Is There Anybody Out There?.

The track is five minutes of pure aggressive, heavy and harmonic riffs – simply everything that embodies Machine Head. The intro comes in strong and just gets your head banging straight away, when the bridge is heavy but still very atmospheric.

The band is known to experiment with their sound quite a bit and Is There Anybody Out There? definitely comes across more catchy and up-beat than their earlier tracks like hits Halo or Locust.

The instrumentation is rhythmic and incredibly groove orientated with fantastic drumming from Dave McClain. But the shining factor of the track is lead vocalist and guitarist Robb Flynn’s epic vocals. His vocal delivery is powerful and so in your face and it’s all accompanied with a catchy melodic element as well.

Is There Anybody Out There? is a real winner and hopefully this track got Machine Head’s gears going, because we’re absolutely keen for a new album!
