Mainland Break Share Their Australian Tour Bucket List

Indie-rock ensemble Mainland Break has unveiled their latest bittersweet jangle-pop anthem, Promises. The track not only showcases their signature sound but also serves as a testament to their musical evolution. In conjunction with the release, Mainland Break is heading our way on a dynamic 8-date tour across Australia, bringing their infectious energy to fans in cities nationwide and creating an unforgettable live experience in celebration of Promises.

Fresh from the success of their inaugural LP, “One Way Ticket To Midnight,” released last July, the band continues to captivate with their newest offering, ‘Promises.’ Infused with jangly indie goodness, the track unfolds with a pulsating, Joy Division-esque bass line creating an ideal foundation for the luminous, shimmering guitar leads that adorn its sonic landscape. Throughout the composition, Vocalist Evan Oliver’s reflective delivery propels the band forward, building towards a cathartic crescendo. Thematically, ‘Promises’ delves into the aftermath of a relationship, exploring the resilience to remain optimistic in the face of emotional upheaval.

To celebrate the release and their tour, Mainland Break have shared with us their Australian Tour bucket list for the upcoming tour.

  • The Record Shopping
    • We’re keen to flip through the stacks at record stores across Australia and to score records that are difficult to find in the U.S.
  • The Road Trippin’
    • We’d be remiss to be in southern Victoria and not travel The Great Ocean Road. We’ve built an Australian road trip playlist to go along with the GOR, as well.
  • The Sunshine
    • We’re coming from a city in the dead of winter, at 1600 meters in elevation, and 1200 kilometers from the nearest ocean. We’re excited to enjoy a respite from the cold and to see Australia’s sunny coast in the middle of summer.
  • The Australian Eats
    • We’re looking forward to hearty pub meals, new (to us) dishes like Frog In The Pond, and the “legendary” vegemite that we’ve heard referenced so many times.
