McDermott & North Return With The Heartfelt New Single, ‘Elope’

Melbourne/Naarm indie-folk duo McDermott & North have returned with their sweet new single, Elope. The heart-melting new single follows on from their previous release, All Things Come And Go, which was released earlier this year.

Elope is a charming ballad that carries the sweet and sophisticated sounds for which McDermott & North have made their name famous. It’s filled with harmonising sing-a-long moments and rich melodies and oozes a warm sense of romance. The track is about vulnerability and innocence that comes when you’re head over heels in love.

“‘How naive that total infatuation you feel for your first true love is, how you would blindly commit to leaving everyone and everything to be solely with that person. Though the relationship didn’t last, the song stands to represent the concept more than it does the person whom it was written for. It’s something many have experienced at some point and the melody serves to further romanticise those times and feelings.” – McDermott.
