Melbourne Funk Rebels Playlunch Return With Wild New Single ‘Keith’
Melbourne-based funk misfits Playlunch are stirring the pot once again with their outrageous new single ‘Keith’ — a genre-bending slice of “bogan funk” inspired by a real-life tradie neighbour from hell. Known for their razor-sharp wit and retro-soaked grooves, Playlunch follow up their viral hit ‘Boys’ with another commentary-laced dancefloor anthem, this time targeting the Aussie male equivalent of a ‘Karen’.
‘Keith’ tells the tale of a fiery local menace — complete with a Ute, trailer, and parking rage — capturing a story many Australians can relate to. The track blends funky basslines, euphoric electropop, and playful lyricism, continuing Playlunch’s streak of crafting tunes that hit hard both musically and socially.

The band takes things even further with a wild music video starring AFL Hall of Famer Barry Hall, portraying the ultimate ‘Keith’ in a chaotic, satirical homage to suburban standoffs. And in true Playlunch style, they’ve launched a 1800 KEITH Hotline, encouraging fans to call in with their own ‘Keith’ stories.
With a new album on the way, ‘Keith’ marks the beginning of a bold new chapter for Playlunch — one filled with controversy, charisma, and a whole lot of funk.
