Melbourne’s Circles Embark On Prog-tastic ‘Ergression’ Tour
Melbourne prog champions, Circles, will be setting out on their final headline tour of 2016 later this month, with Orsome Welles & James Norbert Ivanyi in tow as support acts. Circles have been steadily drumming up hype for their yet-to-be-titled 2017 sophomore record, and these shows are bound to be more than just a small snippet of what the heavy pioneers have in store.
Making waves with their debut album ‘Infinitas’ in 2013, Circles exploded onto the scene with relentless touring spreading the word of their unique and enrapturing take on the progressive metal genre.
Circles have been carving their name here in Australia and abroad, touring with acts such as The Dillinger Escape Plan, Fear Factory, After The Burial, and Monuments. Fans at home are able to catch them one more time this year before they bunker down and finish their upcoming album.
Fans got a taste of what’s to come when the band dropped their single and music video, Sand and Wind, earlier this year. The song is a fast, dynamic, heavy hitter that sidelines some of the prog genre’s more flamboyant tendencies in place of more chugs, harsh vocals, and shred. Circles certainly demonstrate that they can produce a solid single whilst still upholding the things that make them so iconic: powerful clean vocals, thunderous polyrhythmic drums, and thick, driving guitar hooks.
