Mell Hall Teams Up With Italo Disco Legend Babert For The Dance Floor Treat, ‘Cant’ Stop Now’
Australian disco queen, Mell Hall has teamed up with Italo-Disco master, Babert for the instant classic treat, Can’t Stop Now. This one follows on from Hall’s ARIA chart smash, Knock Knock (feat Thandi Phoenix).
Can’t Stop Now ticks all the boxes when it comes to a disco hit, thick and grooving bass-lines, deep thumping kicks and samples galore, main one being one of the most instantly recognizable records of all time in Yazoo’s Don’t Go. It stays strong and the energy remains high energy for all three and half minutes. I When it comes to working with a top shelf producer like Babert, Hall was quick to jump on the project as she explains.
“When Babert calls, you answer! And boy I was so glad I did. Being able to work alongside the Italo-Disco-Lord exceeded all expectations and I’m so excited with what we delivered. Sampling Yazoo’s classic ‘Don’t Go’ – those killer vocals just make me ‘wanna dance – here’s hoping you do as well!” – Mell Hall
Babert shared the same excitement when it came to collaborating with Hall and re working a world wide dance hit.
“I was born in 1982, just in the year that the ‘Don’t Go’ song was released in Italy. It was immediately an incredible success. Probably that sample influenced the formation of my entire brain. Today, being able to put my hand on it and give it back a new colour is an immense honour for me, but I couldn’t do it alone. I needed someone who ‘came in from the city’ and Mell came and ‘walked into the door’, to seal this magnificent collaboration. Now I will finally hear that magical synthesiser again in clubs around the world! And for me, it will be as magical as being a child again.” – Babert
A collaboration made in dance floor heaven we’re sure this one will hang around the charts and playlists for most of the year. Can’t Stop Now is available now, everywhere via our good pals at Club Sweat.
To celebrate the release, Mell Hall is embarking on a huge national tour across some of Australia’s most iconic clubs.
