Melt Festival 2025 Announces ‘1000 Voices’ – A Massive LGBTQIA+ Choral Celebration in Brisbane
Brisbane’s beloved Melt Festival has announced an awe-inspiring new addition to its 2025 program: 1000 Voices, a monumental choral event uniting over a thousand singers in a powerful celebration of LGBTQIA+ pride and community.
Taking place as the grand finale of Melt 2025 on Sunday 9 November, 1000 Voices will bring together queer and ally choirs from across Australia and New Zealand — including Sydney, Melbourne, Auckland, Perth, Darwin and more — in a once-in-a-lifetime mass performance unlike anything Brisbane (Magandjin) has seen before.
Spearheading the event is acclaimed choral leader Adam Majsay, Music Director of the Sydney Gay & Lesbian Choir and creative force behind large-scale queer choir events at WorldPride 2023. Under his direction, 1000 Voices promises an emotional, inclusive and unifying experience celebrating love, resilience and visibility through song.
A pop-up flash mob performance will also surprise crowds at the River Pride Parade on Saturday 8 November, delivering a joyful preview of what’s to come with voices rising in harmony from one of Brisbane’s iconic bridges.
Singers of all experience levels — from seasoned choir members to passionate soloists — are invited to join this historic moment. Registrations are now open, and everyone is welcome.
With the Sydney Gay & Lesbian Choir and Brisbane Pride Choir already confirmed, 1000 Voices is shaping up to be a standout moment of queer celebration, unity and music at Melt Festival 2025.
Visit Melt Festival’s website to register and be one in a thousand — your voice matters.
