Moses Gunn Collective Release Golden New Single “Dream Girls”

Moses Gunn Collective

Stopping by bangerz central on the regular, Brisbane’s psychedelic-rock lords Moses Gunn Collective have dropped their euphoric new single Dream Girls, the first taste of their forthcoming sophomore album.

The throbbing track is the first we’ve heard from the disco-loving 5-piece this year. Alongside this release, Moses Gunn Collective have also announced an east coast tour in support of the new single.

Dream Girls sees the Brisbanites explore a slightly gloomier sound that features a strolling rhythm combined with a bass-heavy melody and melancholic acoustic guitar work. Frontman Aidan Moore’s blissful, echoing vocals take you away to your happy place, full of flowers and jubilant dancing.

The half-way mark of Dream Girls shows the festivity within the band, with heavier dance-rock layers being added by a pumping rhythm and 80s inspired synth work. Brisbane shredder Lewis Stephenson (also known for work with The Belligerents and Morning Harvey) shows off his guitar skills with a sweet solo, that’s perfectly distorted to get your head banging.

Dream Girls shows some definite maturity from Moses Gunn Collective, with their overall sound exhibiting tighter composure and quirkiness that’s always very attractive. There’s a clear injection of dance vibes in Dream Girls, that shows the band can stray from the indie-rock sound found in most of their bangin’ tracks, such as Shalala.
