MSTRKRFT Is Finally Back With An Official Video From New Album

MSTRKRFT

It’s been seven years of silence since electronic duo MSTRKRFT released their last album ‘Fist of God’, but now they’re finally back with third album ‘Operator’!

After sharing their first song since 2011, Little Red Hen, the duo quickly followed up with the singles Party Line, Priceless, and now finally Runaway.

In anticipation for the release of ‘Operator’ MSTRKRFT have dropped a video clip for Runaway, and it’s completely reminiscent of the MSTRKRFT bangers of 2009.

Having worked on the album since 2013, one-half of the electronica duo Alex Puodziukas said Runaway plays with genre a little.

“We were looking for something that flirted with pop sensibilities, but was still a-typical,” he said.

The video features dancer Charlton Diaz doing what seems like a combination of sleepwalking and dancing, and enough synths to turn a Monday morning into a Friday night.

Puodziukas said the song aims to be an artwork, rather than just a track.

“Abstract arrangement (…) allowed Runaway to exist as both a pop song and an art piece,” he said.

Runaway is not dissimilar to a lot of electronic music produced in the late 2000s, and seemingly mirrors artists such as Crookers, Digitalism, Midnight Juggernauts and The Bloody Beetroots.

If you’re in the mood to spice up your Friday night or just need a new song to blast at the gym, make sure you satisfy your craving with this new banger from MSTRKRFT.
