Music Heavyweights Speedy Ortiz, Pitchfork & More Grace the BIGSOUND Speakers’ Bill

Where do we even start with this second announcement of speakers for 2017’s BIGSOUND? It’s just… mammoth. Rounding out Australia’s biggest music event and conference will be two keynote speakers and a multitude of music industry folks to teach and inform the masses.

Sadie Dupuis, of American indie-rock giants, Speedy Ortiz, will be gracing our shores for a keynote speech along with Kenny Gates who’s the co-founder of PIAS, one of the world’s most prolific and renowned indie labels in existence.

Speedy Ortiz have yet to tour Australia as a band (still waiting for that day) but the band’s fearless leader, Sadie Dupuis, will be taking time out from her busy schedule to have one of the biggest spots on the BIGSOUND bill. Kenny Gates, on the other hand, has unearthed some of the indie worlds brightest talents such as Agnes Obel, Balthazar, Editors, Enter Shikari, Ghostpoet, Lord Huron, Melanie De Biasio and Pixies.

Some of the other music industry heavyweights to join the BIGSOUND speakers bill will be Hugh McClure from Good Manners, Ben O’Connor of Chapter Music, Twitter’s own Jennie Sager, music journalism legend Jane Gazzo, Captured Tracks’ Mike Sniper, Jillian Mapes from the world’s most trusted music website, Pitchfork and Emily Kelly from Deathproof, just to name a very select few.

See the MASSIVE full list of speakers joining the BIGSOUND bill. See HERE for the full list of artists performing at the festival. Tickets are on sale now for both the full conference, which includes the speakers access, and the night sessions with live music galore—tickets can be purchased HERE.
