Nelly Creates A Dilemma For Aussie Hip-Hop Festival

nelly

Nike Air Force One and Porsche enthusiast Nelly has distanced himself from upcoming Aussie hip-hop festival The Boulevard Tour. In a series of tweets Nelly claimed that he had never been associated with the tour, accused organisers of false advertising, and cautioned all those who had bought tickets. The event’s other main draw card, the AutoTune loving T-Pain has since revealed that he would not be performing at the festival either.

If that wasn’t enough to convince you that the Australian hip-hop festival curse is real, it looks as though there may be some issues with the venues as well. Perth Now confirmed that Taylor Reserve, the Perth venue, had been booked by the event organisers but the same could not be said for venues in other capital cites.

The tour was set to hit the Brisbane Entertainment Centre on March 17, Sydney’s All Phones Arena on March 20, and Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena on March 18. However Madonna’s Rebel Heart Tour is set to take over the Brisbane and Sydney venues on those dates and Bryan Adams is scheduled for Rod Laver on March 18.

Tickets are already on sale but apparently no one is too upset about missing a live rendition of Hot In Herre as Perth Now reports there have been no complaints yet. Nevertheless, Consumer Protection Commissioner David Hillyard has encouraged potential festival goers to be cautious.
