New Coachella Festival Lineup Worthy of Woodstock
Coachella, the festival of choice for young American whipper-snappers, has extended a loving hand to the neglected, music-loving Baby Boomers of the world.
Coachella’s new festival Desert Trip is definitely shaping up to be your grandma’s kind of thing, with iconic 60s rock ‘n’ roll groups The Rolling Stones, The Who, Sir Paul McCartney of The Beatles, folk icon Bob Dylan, rock god Neil Young, and Pink Floyd’s Roger Waters.
Aiming to outdo the stellar Coachella lineups of recent years (Guns ‘n’ Roses, Calvin Harris, The Pixies, and more), Desert Trip focuses on the Golden Oldies who’ve managed to stay relevant over the decades. “The theme was rock & roll bands that have been playing consistently since the early days,” said Coachella and Desert Trip CEO, Paul Tollett.
Fortunately, this Baby Boomer festival promises a Millennial’s price tag, with three-day admission costing around $532, and a single day pass going for approximately $265. Not a bad offer, given the asking price of up to $580 for The Rolling Stones’ last Australian tour. Deluxe offers are available as well, with reserved floor tickets from $933, reserved grandstand tickets from $1,333, and standing pit passes from $2,134.
