Brisbane Venue Making Noise To End Violence Against Women
Brisbane’s New Globe Theatre is taking a stand to end violence against women. In support of White Ribbon Australia the event ‘Girl Power’ will host an irresistible lineup to raise awareness and well-needed funds for the organisation.
Headlining the night is Brisbane-based alternative rock outfit Flynn Effect. Forming in 2012, the quartet bring a theatrical element to their electronic infused heavy rock. Since the release of their debut EP ‘Skin’ in 2014 Flynn Effect have received critical acclaim and word is they have a new album on the way.
Adding fire to the lineup is songstress Holly Terrens who dropped her new single Disaster Brings Me Home earlier this year. Her track has been showered with love on an international scale with UK’s Prog Magazine claiming “this is what Radiohead’s Thom Yorke might sound like if he had been born female”. Treating the ‘Girl Power’ crowd, Terrens has made this set her official single launch.
Also jumping on board the lineup are Brisbane outfits She Eats Hearts and Seraphic, finalising the elaborate scale from electronic pop to gothic metal.
