Coheed & Cambria Release Third Single From Upcoming Album

American post-hardcore outfit Coheed and Cambria have released the third single Island from their latest album ‘The Color Before The Sun’.

The single is different from what they produced in their last two part albums ‘The Afterman: The Ascension’ and ‘The Afterman: The Descension’. It’s more vibrant with the band experimenting with a pop-rock approach, while still maintained their mix of monumental guitar riffs, exciting percussion, and expansive vocal melodies.

The last seven albums have been about Sanchez’s science fiction comic book series ‘The Amory Wars’. ‘The Color Before The Sun’ is the first album that is not connected to the series, but rather a reflection on Sanchez’s recent events in his life.

Cladio Sanchez says Island is a reflection towards his living situation while writing ‘The Color Before The Sun’. “[I was] in a small city apartment, surrounded by a sea of concrete, thin walls and open ears, I struggled with the hold it had on my creative output,” says Sanchez.

Due to popular demand, Coheed and Cambria have announced a second Melbourne show for Saturday 7 May.
