New Sticky Fingers At Last🤘🤘

sticky fingers

Sydney reggae-indie rockers Sticky Fingers have finally gifted us with their new single Outcast At Last ahead of a massive national tour.

Put together a mix of the grimy overdriven reggae we’re used to from STIFI, throw in a bit of vintage Arctic Monkeys rock, some ambient piano riffs, and you have Outcast At Last.  It’s the sort of track you could expect to hear played in an underground pub with a beer in one hand rather than at Splendour’s amphitheatre.

Bassist Paddy Cornwall told triple j about recording this song on a holiday in Thailand, and went on to talk about the new album.

“We’re mixing it as we speak, down in Melbourne, with our man Dann Hume and it’s sounding great. We’re very excited. It’s actually much more of a live sounding album,” he said.

“On ‘Land of Pleasure’, that was the first time we had our own studio and our relationship with Dann was growing and so we were getting mega-experimental…getting deep into the production elements.

“This album’s going to be slightly an antidote to that where it’s a lot more back-to-basics: the band, in a room, playing together. And I reckon this single is a pretty good representation of that.”

STIFI’s new album is due to be released sometime after their massive Australian tour, starting next weekend in WA.
